Felipe Drugovich set the fastest time for MP Motorsport on the morning of Day 3 in Sakhir before the second session was cancelled due to a sandstorm and low visibility. The Brazilian driver’s rookie teammate Clément Novalak was second, ahead of Hitech Grand Prix’s Jüri Vips.

The penultimate morning of pre-season testing was spent performing long runs as the teams ramped up their final preparations for the opening race of the season.

Two of the three drivers to post fewer than 30 laps were at the top of the leaderboard, as MP pairing Drugovich and Novalak dominated. The Brazilian led from start to finish, dropping a 1:44.911 to beat his teammate by nearly a second.

Roy Nissany of DAMS and PREMA’s Dennis Hauger were sixth and seventh, ahead of ART’s Theo Pourchaire, whose tally of 56 laps was the highest on the final morning.

Jack Doohan finished in ninth with just under two and a half seconds separating him from the leader, while Ayumu Iwasa managed tenth before pulling to a stop at Turn 8 and causing the session’s sole Red Flag.

The next time that the cars hit the track will be for Round 1 of 2022 campaign, which will launch into action at Sakhir on March 18.
